  1. OPEN TO ALL REGIONS: REFRESHER: ARMER Radio Trainer - 1 Day class in Central Region

    October 15, 2019, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Otter Tail County Operations Center

    The CM Region has contracted with On-Target Training & Consulting to provide a 1-Day ARMER end user trainer refresher course of instruction. Training is designed to update the trainer on the ARMER system, including basic characteristics and functionality. The instruction will also include, trainer networking including trainer learning objectives question and answer session. Pre-requisites: All personnel attending Refresher Train the Trainer will be expected to have been certified previously as an ARMER End User Trainer. Students are recommended to come to class with a portable radio and laptop computer. Course deliverables will be provided at the training via USB storage device.

  3. OPEN TO ALL REGIONS: Search and Rescue Incident Management - 1 Day Workshop in Central Region

    October 24, 2019, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM @ Kandiyohi County EOC (Use West sidewalk on opposite side of bldg from Jail)

    The CM Region has contracted with Rick Slatten of Woods Talk, LLC to provide a 1 day workshop covering Search and Rescue Incident Management. This one-day course is suitable for Law Enforcement, Fire-Rescue, Search and Rescue technicians, managers, field team members, field team leaders, planners, managers, and command & general staff. Goals for this course: Enable participants to effectively and confidently participate in and lead a search for a lost or missing person in a remote environment. Explain basic search theory, strategy, and tactics. Effectively and confidently plan, manage, and execute a missing person search including dispatch and response, pre-staging and staging tasks, reflex and area-phase sorties, multi-agency radio interoperability, and suspension to passive operations. Navigate to, plot, and communicate position using both Latitude/Longitude and US National Grid systems. Enhance and condition searcher visual acuity to more efficiently detect targets.
